From Wall Street to the Silk Road
January 24 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
FREE“Kyrgyzstan, a country on the ancient silk road, and a former Soviet Republic opened its arms to the Peace Corps in the early nineties. I joined the PC in 2004 and was assigned to work in a non governmental organization in the old silk road city of Osh. The experience of living with a family of another culture, speaking a foreign language, surviving a revolution and ultimately landing in a teaching position in a university were life changing for me. My two years there marked a significant shift in my own life and my view of the world. It was one of the hardest things that I have done, but I would not change it for anything.” —John Copenhaver
