A Taste of Thailand with Chef and Artist Chalermkhwan Kwan Buadam
May 11 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$15.00Experience an enchanting evening of authentic Thai cuisine and artistry on May 11th, hosted by the remarkably talented Chef and Artist Chalermkhwan “Kwan” Buadam. Hailing from the picturesque island of Phuket, Thailand, Kwan has graced Nantucket with her culinary and artistic gifts since 2011, captivating the hearts and palates of locals and visitors alike.
This exclusive dining event promises not just a meal but an immersive cultural experience! Kwan has meticulously crafted a menu that bridges the traditional flavors of Thailand with the vibrant energy of Nantucket. Prior to becoming Nantucket’s beloved private chef, Kwan shared her passion by teaching Thai cooking at The Corner Table and Bartlett’s Farm, ensuring that the art of Thai cuisine flourishes far from its homeland.
The evening will commence with a buffet-style appetizer selection featuring Glass (mung bean) Noodles with a melange of seafood and fresh vegetables, alongside a flavorful Larb Salad with ground beef, cellophane noodles, and crisp vegetables. This appetizing start sets the stage for the main course, a delectable Chicken Satay served with a rich peanut sauce and rice, accompanied by a refreshing Cucumber Salad.
No Thai dining experience is complete without a touch of sweetness; carved fruit will be artfully presented buffet style, serving as both a visual and culinary dessert that captivates and delights.
Beyond the cuisine, immerse yourself in Kwan’s artistic world. Her creations are on display at The Artist Association and Robert Foster Fine Art at the 8 India Street Gallery, where her vibrant works tell stories of her Thai heritage and Nantucket’s influence. This event offers a unique opportunity to meet the artist behind the canvas and the chef behind the flavors.
Don’t miss this unparalleled fusion of art, culture, and gastronomy. Join us for a memorable night where each dish is a brushstroke, and every flavor is a color on Kwan’s palette, creating a masterpiece meant to be savored. RSVP, limited seating. Please call 508-228-4490 to save your seat!
