Join us for an inspiring afternoon of exploration and discovery in the heart of Nantucket’s natural beauty. 🍃 Hosted by the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, this exclusive Conservation Walk led by expert Neil Foley is an event you won’t want to miss.
Details of the Event:
- Date: Wednesday, April 24
- Time: 1:00 PM sharp (please arrive early to ensure a timely start)
- Location: Squam Farm, 2 Squidnet Way – a picturesque trail that wends through Nantucket’s diverse ecosystems
- What to Bring: Water and wear walking shoes; the trails are wide and easy to walk on.
Directions to the Starting Point:
Navigate your way from the buzz of daily life to the serene landscapes of Nantucket:
- Depart from the Rotary and proceed on Milestone Rd.
- Take your second left onto Polpis Road, where the signs gently guide you towards Wauwinet.
- After about 5.4 miles, turn left onto Quidnet Road—be on the lookout for cones signifying the turn!
- Spot the first turn on the left onto Squidnet Way—a rustic dirt road marked by a sentinel rock and a collection of mailboxes standing guard opposite.
- Continue down this lane for half a mile until you reach the welcoming fenced parking area on your right.
Special Instructions:
Pack your curiosity and comfortable walking shoes for an adventure amid Nantucket’s splendid foliage and fauna. We’ll guide you through the extraordinary efforts underway to preserve our beautiful island. This will be an easy walk, and we will occasionally stop for a brief lecture. If it’s a light drizzle, bring your rain jacket. If heavy rain is forecast at this time, we will have another walk next month in May.
